6/10/08 – The Knitting Factory – New York, NY

The mercury was pushing triple digits in New York on Tuesday, which made it all the more impressive that people were lining up for our show with The Pink Spiders and Treaty of Paris over an hour before doors. (In spite of the temperature, I still thought it was a good idea to wear a blazer on stage – good thing the Knit has AC.) What a great crowd – lots of energy, lots of noise, lots of cell phone cameras! I counted at least fifteen in the air while we were playing, so I know there’s footage of the show out there – send it to me at marty@spiraling.net and I’ll post it.

Ego boost of the day: After the show, a girl actually asked me to go to prom with her , which I guess is proof positive that real life really isn’t like high school. (By the way, when did “the prom” lose its indefinite article?)

Here’s a post-show pic from our new friends Kelly and Karen:

SPIRALING FUN FACT: People from Westchester County and Nassau County in New York never tell you what town they’re from, they just say they’re from Westchester County or Nassau County.

SET LIST: The Future / The Concept… / You Might Say / The Girl on Top (of the piano) / Are You Here / Victory Kiss
